Cumberland approves 114-home Carlisle neighbourhood
Home Group Housing Association has consent to build a 114-home neighbourhood on a vacant seven-acre plot off Burgh Road in north-west Carlisle.
Proposals submitted to Cumberland Council by planner Summit Town Planning indicate the construction of 42 two-, 66 three-, and seven four-bed two-storey houses, available as semi-detached or in terraces.
The scheme has been approved subject to a legal agreement designed to mitigate the impact of the development on the nutrients in the nearby River Eden.
Each home will have a private parking bay and back garden. Roof-top solar panels will provide top-up clean energy.

The development will be defined by a central area of green space fronted by short runs of terraces.
Shadbolt, TPS, Envirotech, Water Design Engineers, Arc Environmental, Rowan Tree Surveys, LA Environmental, and CFA Archaeology are all working on the project.

Plenty of places to build new homes without ruining green belt fields.there is an area which at the moment is an eyesore at the bottom of Richmond Green which would be perfect. Also burgh Road site has no shops a school full to capacity. Poor judgement by people who don’t live near the ares.councillers from Solway and Cockermouth
