Corstorphine + Wright hires design director
The architecture firm has appointed Matt Brook, formerly head of design at Broadway Malyan in Liverpool.
Brook will be assisting C+W in boosting the practice’s profile in the North West and guiding the business’s design strategy.
Brook is a RIBA award-winning architect and is chair of PlacesMatter, the RIBA North West design review panel. He is the architect behind RIBA North, the national architecture centre, and Mann Island on Liverpool’s waterfront.
Broadway Malyan closed its Liverpool office in 2018, relocating staff to Manchester.
Of his appointment Brook has said: “The North West has always been a very special place to me and it’s been a genuine pleasure to be able to deliver projects of the calibre of Mann Island and RIBA North.”
Michael Lampard, director at Corstorphine + Wright, said: “The practice has undergone considerable growth over the last 12 months and we need to ensure that as we expand both in terms of our geographic reach and size of the teams, we maintain a cohesive approach to design.
“A key element of Matt’s role is to ensure that each of our studios around the country are operating within an aligned design framework.”
Brilliant appointment, one of the best architects in Manchester.
