Clyde & Co deal announced by Hines
Hines has confirmed that law firm Clyde & Co will expand its presence within Manchester’s Royal Exchange by an additional 69,000 sq ft, taking its total space in the building to 80,000 sq ft.
The deal was first revealed by Place North West earlier this year. There are 121,000 sq ft of offices in the building, and after the letting to Clyde & Co 14,000 sq ft remains available, although the Coroner’s Court is expected to be relocating to the Royal Exchange when it moves out of Manchester Town Hall.
The Royal Exchange was acquired by Hines in November 2016 on behalf of Bayerische Versorgungskammer, Germany’s largest pension scheme group, as part of its €1.3bn European high street retail mandate.
David Wynn, managing partner of Clyde & Co’s Manchester office, said: “Our Manchester office is an increasingly important part of Clyde & Co’s global network of nearly 50 offices worldwide. Expanding our presence and centralising our teams in this iconic central Manchester building will give us a modern office environment to operate in and support our continued growth in the city.”
Savills and Canning O’Neill advised Hines, with Cushman & Wakefield acting for Clyde & Co.
