Chester Uni revises student halls scheme
Manchester architect Broadway Malyan has submitted fresh proposals for a student accommodation block at the University of Chester.
The original scheme, pictured, was knocked back by councillors in the summer who felt its design was not in keeping with the surrounding area.
The new plans detail a four-storey block with 196 bedrooms, slightly smaller than the previous four and five-storey submission with accommodation for 203 students.
The proposed scheme will be built on playing fields at the main Parkgate Road campus if it is approved by councillors in several months' time.
In a planning statement accompanying the application, Broadway Malyan said the university will manage the new block which is required to help it meet student demand in 2013-16.
