Cheshire East picks TEP for Crewe growth plan
The Environment Partnership, based in Warrington, has been selected to prepare a green infrastructure plan as part of the emerging All Change for Crewe strategy.
Cheshire East Council expects the population of Crewe to rise from 83,000 to 100,000 by 2030. To support the proposals for growth and the recently adopted strategic framework, All Change for Crewe, the local authority has appointed TEP to help inform the core strategy.
Tim Johns, TEP's principal green infrastructure consultant, said: "Crewe has a number of green infrastructure assets, however they need better inter-connectivity and they will need to underpin the proposed areas of growth."
The green action plan will also inform the official Local Development Framework Infrastructure Delivery Plan and be used as a tool for negotiation with developers in terms of Section 106 agreements, or planning conditions, and the implementation of the Community Infrastructure Levy.
