Cheshire East awards £8m roofing contract
Warrington-based contractor Harry Fairclough Construction has won a four-year job to replace roofs and windows on schools, libraries and other council buildings.
The company will be responsible for the design, procurement and delivery of an annual programme of repair and renewal of existing roofs and window/curtain walling installations at all council buildings. These are primarily schools, but also may include libraries and other community buildings, social services and health buildings and office facilities.
The award is worth approximately £2m a year and will include around 20 to 25 projects each year.
Cheshire East was formed in April 2009 from the merger of Congleton, Crewe & Nantwich, Macclesfield and Cheshire County Councils. A second council, Cheshire West & Chester was created at the same time.
