CBRE finds new retail depot for LFC
The industrial agency team at CB Richard Ellis has acquired a new distribution facility on behalf of Liverpool Football Club.
The deal, which completed this month, will see the Premiership team's merchandising operation move to a modern warehouse and distribution unit over three times the size of its existing site in Bootle. The size and location of the new depot has been kept secret for security reasons.
Liverpool FC instructed CBRE just four months ago to advise on the move which has been secured at £2.75/sq ft.
Jonathan Thorne, director of industrial agency at CBRE North West, commented: "It has been fantastic to work with such a high profile client and we are pleased to have secured a deal so quickly. In a challenging market we have been able to negotiated a fantastic deal on a property which will allow the club to significantly expand its operations."
Lee Dwerryhouse, head of retail at Liverpool Football Club, added: "As a Premiership club, Liverpool FC's merchandise business is huge and demand for shirts, as well as other branded products, continues to grow. This has meant that our old premises are no-longer suitable for our operations but we are thrilled with the site CBRE has found us and look forward to the challenge of getting the new facility operational."
Liverpool Football Club plans to be in its new premises by the end of the month, ready for the imminent launch of the new European kit for next season.
