CBRE appoints national head of engineering design and director

Paul McEwan has joined CBRE as director of engineering consultancy for the North, taking over the role from Paul Feely, who has been promoted to head of engineering design for the UK and Ireland.

McEwan was recruited from SES, where he worked for six years, leading on several major projects for the engineering services company. In his new role, McEwan will work to craft CBRE’s engineering strategy.

Oliver Thomas,  head of the CBRE Northern project management building consultancy team, praised McEwan’s hire.

“Paul McEwan will be key to that overall strategy, building on the great work that has already been achieved and leading our Northern engineering consultancy services,” Thomas said.

Before Feely joined CBRE, he was a partner at Cushman & Wakefield.

As head of engineering design for the UK and Ireland, Feely will focus on services in strategic engineering advice, sustainable engineering and net zero carbon consultancy.

Both McEwan and Feely will work out of CBRE’s Manchester and Liverpool offices.

With McEwan’s hire and Feely’s promotion, Thomas made a point to share that CBRE is still hiring.

“We are on the lookout for engineers who want a new challenge and the opportunity to be part of the world’s largest real estate business and a multi-disciplinary project management and building consultancy team,” Thomas said.
