Canmoor tables plans for 1m sq ft St Helens industrial

Having secured consent for 300,000 sq ft north of Haydock Industrial Estate, the developer is now progressing plans for a scheme more than three times the size on an adjoining plot.

Canmoor Developments has submitted an application to St Helens Council for 10 units totalling 990,000 sq ft off Liverpool Road.

The site spans 51 acres and is allocated for employment space in the council’s recently adopted local plan.

It is anticipated the site could accommodate up to 1,190 jobs once complete and fully let. The largest unit would be around 550,000 sq ft.

Canmoor will be hoping for an easier ride with this development than its last Haydock proposal. The developer was finally granted planning permission for its 300,000 sq ft project last year after it was initially refused in 2019.
