Caesarstone takes Trafford Park warehouse from Globus
The company has taken 19,000 sq ft in Trafford Park after Globus surrendered the lease on the building following the acquisiton of a 100,000 sq ft facility at Trafford Point.
Advised by Savills, the kitchen worktop supplier has signed a 10-year lease on Unit E38 on Wheelforge Way at a rent of £6.75/sq ft. The building is owned by DTZi Investors.
Globus agreed to surrender its lease on the building and will now focus on its 100,000 sq ft unit at Trafford Point, which was speculatively-developed by the Harbert European Real Estate Fund.
The company signed a deal to occupy the site in August last year; it was advised by Avison Young on the surrender of its lease at Wheelforge Way.
Ruth Leighton of Avison Young said: “Negotiations commenced during Q4 2018 at Trafford Park when Caesarstone UK was earmarked as the potential future tenant for Unit 38. Caesarstone UK was immediately attracted to the modern, detached warehouse and was keen to secure it due to the lack of availability in quality units of this size in the Park.
“Supply in Trafford Park continues to be extremely limited for units of circa 20,000 sq ft upwards but demand remains strong. Unsurprisingly, we had a number of parties interested in this unit, which demonstrates the scarcity factor in the market at the current time.”
