Bloor announces 140-home Tarporley neighbourhood

The housebuilder has applied to Cheshire West and Chester Council for permission to develop the 20-acre Ardern Home Farm site to the south west of the village.

Bloor has proposed a mix of maisonettes, terraces, semi-detached, and detached properties alongside 9.3 acres of open space.

At least 30% of the homes would be affordable, with a tenure mix to be decided at a later stage.

Bloor would build the properties with a focus on sustainability, providing rooftop solar panels, low-carbon heating, and high levels of insulation.

Arderne Home Farm Stables are located on the site and would be demolished as part of the application. The site is considered previously developed land and is not Green Belt.

Plans require the installation of a new junction facing south off Eton Road. The site is close to bus routes that connect the village to Chester and Northwich.

Lichfields put the plans to the local authority on behalf of the housebuilder.

Tom Loomes, senior planning manager at Bloor Homes, said: “Following our recent public consultation on the plans for Arderne Home Farm, we have listened to feedback and taken the next step in the planning process by submitting our plans to Cheshire West and Chester Council.

“We think that Tarporley is a fantastic settlement with a strong sense of community, and we want our proposals to reflect that and support sustainable growth for the ongoing success of Tarporley.”

RSK LDE, JPM Acoustics, UES, and Tree Solutions all contributed to the application.
