Bedford to step down as partner at Deloitte
Simon Bedford will go down to three days a week as a consultant at the Big Four firm from the end of May.
Partners John Cooper and Zoe Davidson will run the Manchester real estate once Bedford’s 16-year tenure ends.
Nigel Shilton, managing partner for real assets advisory at Deloitte, confirmed Bedford’s decision.
“Simon Bedford, partner for real estate in Manchester, will be stepping down from his full-time role as partner as of the end of May.
“He will become a consultant for the firm three days per week, remaining a part of Deloitte and the team.”
Bedford joined Deloitte in 2008 from Ekosgen and previously spent time with JLL and BDP.
During more than a decade and a half at Deloitte, Bedford has worked on a host of high-profile regeneration projects in various UK cities including Belfast, Sheffield, and Bristol.
His current schemes include the proposed relocation of Stepping Hill Hospital to Stockport town centre and the redevelopment of the Mill Gate Shopping Centre in Bury.
Deloitte was also recently appointed to draw up a 10-year investment and development framework for Liverpool city centre.
Bedford told Place North West it had been a “privilege” to lead the team.
“I am looking forward to continuing to work on projects and with clients,” he added.
One of the very bright people in North West property.
