AY’s Cohen joins BPF regional committee

Sholom Cohen, associate director in Avison Young’s Manchester office, has been invited by the chief executive of the British Property Federation, Melanie Leech, to take a place on the organisation’s Regional Policy Committee. 

The committee is a strategic advisory board made up of the chief executives of many of the BPF’s largest members – which include landlord Grosvenor, housebuilder Taylor Wimpey and investment manager Schroders Real Estate Investment Management.

The committee acts as a conduit between the property industry and Government, covering high level policy issues and lobbying Whitehall on industry proposals. 

The board is chaired by David Partridge, managing partner of developer Argent. 

Cohen will play a part in shaping the future of placemaking through policies impacting the property industry.  

He said he hopes to contribute towards “supporting the Government’s ambitious investment plans and its ‘levelling up’ agenda”.  

Cohen joined Avison Young in 2013 before being promoted to associate director earlier this year.
