Aspect Construction has started work on two projects in Cheshire with a combined value of £5.5m.
A £2.1m Crematorium to serve the Northwich, Winsford and Vale Royal area is being built for the Westerleigh Group.
The facility is due to be completed at the end of February with funeral services starting in March 2014.
The Sutton Weaver-based contractor has also started work on a £3.4m extension to Fallibroome Specialist Arts College and National Teaching School in Macclesfield. The project will provide a two-storey sixth form centre, dining and kitchen facilities with offices for staff. There will also be a new main reception for the existing secondary school.
Completion is due in July 2014.
