Application in for 560 Liverpool flats
Plans for an 11-storey residential block at Blackstock Street have been submitted to Liverpool City Council by Caro Developments.
The proposals include 224 studio apartments, 264 one-bedroom apartments, and 72 two-bedroom apartments.
The 1.21-acre brownfield site would also include 88 car parking spaces and 366 cycle spaces.
According to the application: “The site is situated to the northern edge of the city centre boundary as outlined in the Strategic Investment Framework, and within a Mayoral Development Zone, meaning it is earmarked as a site of high importance where development will accelerate the rate of economic growth, improve productivity, re-balance the economy, and develop a competitive edge both nationally and globally.”
Zerum is the planning consultant on the scheme, while Falconer Chester Hall is the architect. Thomas Consulting is the structural engineer.

We need these houses for the benefit of our children and our childrens children. Build them now. We are a big city and it feels like a big city.

We need to expand our airport, cut all the taxes we can and build as many properties we can

Whilst I applaud more housing, looking at the plans, are 88 car parking spaces going to be enough for the whole development?

More homes people cannot afford. We have so many empty recently built properties around as it is.

Will it left half built like previous sites across the city. Leaving investors out of pocket again.

What happens when the balloon bursts and all these flats are vacated by skint tenants ?

Six spoof comments in a row from Manchester, that must be a record. Who’s paying you? Should we be flattered you show such an interest in your neighbour.

If this is the image the marketing department at the Devopler / FCH have for the scheme we shouldn’t have high hopes that the architectural delivery is going to be good!!
