Amion recruits Colliers leisure pair

Chris Melia and Greg Hunt, advisors to large tourist attraction operators, have left to join Liverpool-based Amion Consulting as partner director and associate director.

Melia was Northern director of Colliers International Destination Consulting, previously known as Locum Consulting, having spent 11 years at the firm. She said: "We are both extremely excited to be joining Amion. We have always enjoyed working with the Amion team and we are looking forward to developing new opportunities together as well as continuing to do what we do best, providing excellent services to our visitor and leisure sector clients."

Melia has advised on projects including the V&A Dundee, the National Maritime Museum, the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Derbyshire Nottinghamshire LEP and the Malta European Capital of Culture. She was previously managing director of Magna Science & Conference Centre in Rotherham and director of Tourism South East.

Hunt worked at Colliers for six years and joined Amion as associate director. He has worked with clients and projects including Chester Zoo, Tatton Park, the National Football Museum, and Casino Development at Birmingham NEC.

Tim Johnston, one of Amion's two founding partners, said: "We have worked with both Chris and Greg over the years and we know that their skills and experience in areas such as business planning, business development, strategy development and funding will provide an ideal fit with our existing offer.

"We are looking forward to expanding our role in the visitor attraction, culture, heritage, leisure and tourism sectors, which are so important to the wider economy."

Amion has been operating for more than 10 years, offering economic, financial and management consultancy services.
