Altrincham-area industrial site on market for £4m

The nearly two-acre former Sabre Valves plot in Hale could be prime space for a housing or retirement living development, according to agent Legat Owen.

Currently, the site has nearly 26,000 sq ft of industrial space spread out across three buildings. The property has become surplus for owner Sabre Holdings’ needs – thus the recruitment of consultancy Legat Owen to market it.

Legat Owen is accepting both unconditional and conditional offers in the region of £4m for the plot, with a deadline of 13 September. Offers can be to either continue the space’s existing use or to redevelop the brownfield into something new entirely.

The property will be vacant upon the completion of the sale and sits on the corner of Moss Lane and Golf Road in Hale. It is just half a mile from Altrincham town centre.

Will Rees, director of development land agency and consultancy at Legat Owen, described how this land has plenty of potential.

“The revitalisation of Altrincham town centre is one of the retail success stories of recent years, and this has always been a desirable part of the town,” he said.

“It has to be said that the chance to acquire such a sizeable development opportunity in a well-established neighbourhood doesn’t present itself often. The site is well connected by road and public transport, with good local amenities, and we expect it to prove popular.”
