Genesis nets approval for 98 Carlisle homes

Siding with officers, Cumberland councillors voted this week to approve the housebuilder’s application for a neighbourhood off Crindledyke Lane.

Genesis Homes’ scheme was designed by The Greenfield Design Partnership and breaks down into a mixture of bungalows, terraced, semi-detached, and detached houses with between two and five bedrooms.

Among the homes built would be 29 affordable properties: two two-bed bungalows, 13 two-bed houses, and 14 three-bed ones. These are to be roughly split evenly into affordable rent and discounted sale.

Expect to see homes with solar panels and EV chargers.

The 98 homes would be built on nine acres of land, with the remaining three acres of the site reserved for public open space.

In addition to The Greenfield Design Partnership, the project team includes Sam Greig Planning, Coopers, Gerry Martin Associates, and Egg Transport Planning.
