Work underway on new Blue Coat primary

Bardsley Construction has started work on a £4.9m contract to build the new Chester Blue Coat Church of England primary school.

Bardsley was awarded the contract by the Chester Diocesan Board of Education under the Northern Diocese Four Year Framework, a £40m programme to provide new and refurbished school buildings across the North of England.

The contract is to build a timber framed two-storey school on Walpole Street with external play areas, car park and access road on the existing playing field, prior to the demolition of the existing infant and junior schools to provide a new sports field and all-weather pitch.

Work on the school has started on site and is due to be completed in February 2013.
