Young property professionals club expands

Manchester's Young Entrepreneurs in Property network has appointed three new committee members as it prepares to increase activity in 2009.

Rachel McMaster from office fit-out specialist Overbury; Tom Maskell, founder of chartered surveyors Turner Southern; and Phillip Birchall, real estate solicitor at Halliwells, all join the management team.

Billed as the forum for the sector's under-35s, YEP started in September 2007 and runs quarterly educational and social events. The existing committee members include representatives from Arcadis AYH, DLA Piper, Herriots, HKR Architects, Lambert Smith Hampton and MC2.

Matthew Mackey of Arcadis AYH, chairman of the network, said: "YEP Manchester has exceeded all our expectations in terms of the events we have organised, the speakers we have secured and the members we have attracted. We now boast a database of over 600 of the city's finest up-and-coming property professionals and demand for our quarterly events is huge.

"As a result we decided it was necessary to get further support on the committee to ensure the quality of our events can continue into 2009. We are thrilled to have Rachel, Tom and Phillip on the committee and look forward to the benefits of their knowledge and experience."
