Work starts on 168-home St Helens scheme
Having secured planning approval for the £28m Lancots Lane project last year, Torus and Stanley Land and Homes are celebrating a start on site.
Stanley is the developer behind the 168-home St Helens project, with Torus lined up to manage the homes, all of which will be affordable.
Holmpatrick Developments is the main contractor for the project, which consists of 96 homes for shared ownership and 72 for affordable rent.
The scheme, comprising a mix of two, three-, and four-bedroom houses and bungalows, is Torus’ largest in St Helens to date.
Colin Lafferty, senior development manager at Torus Developments, said: “St Helens is an incredibly important area of focus for Torus and one we are wholeheartedly committed to investing in.
“Lancots Lane is the first of a number of large schemes we will be mobilising in St Helens and to be in a position to bring forward 168 new homes is something we’re really proud of.”
Neil Hughes, director at Stanley, added: “At Stanley, we believe affordable housing should enjoy the highest standards of urban design and quality.
“The construction of 168 new homes will drive a complete transformation of the area and prove to be an exemplary demonstration of brownfield regeneration through highly collaborative partnership working between Torus, the LPA, and Stanley.”
