Wirral GP surgery handed over
Health care property specialists LSP Developments and Assura Group have completed £2.5m premises for St Hilary Brow Group Practice in Wallasey.
The building was designed by West Hart Architects and built by contractor Pochin Construction. St Hilary Group Practice was advised by Weightmans LLP. The practice was formerly located on two separate sites in Wallasey Road.
The development comprises a 10,000 sq ft two-storey primary care centre and an 800 sq ft pharmacy, let to J Cubbins & Sons, a local independent chemist.
Dr James Kingsland, senior partner at St Hilary Group Practice, said: "The practice has been completed to an extremely high standard. The extended services offered at the new centre will allow us to make speedier diagnoses, make more specific use of hospital resources and allow us to complete episodes of care in one location."
The new building was opened by Sir David Nicholson, chief executive of the NHS and NHSCBA.
The old surgery was very conveniently located on one of the main bus routes serving Wallasey. Unfortunately, the new surgery is not on a bus route, half way up a very steep hill and there’s very little parking for patients.Sadly, as in many of these new developments the requirements of the practice have failed to consider the needs of the patients
