Winckworth Sherwood expands Manchester team
The law firm has appointed Jo Hannah as senior associate, doubling the number of planning lawyers the firm has in Manchester.
Hannah joined from DWF, where she was an associate in its planning law team. She previously worked with Karen Cooksley and Colette McCormack, partners in Winckworth Sherwood's planning team, at Bevan Brittan & Masons, now Pinsent Masons.
She was previously head of the planning and technical legal team at Trafford Council.
Hannah recently advised St Modwens on a major regeneration scheme at Great Homer Street in Liverpool, and a mixed-use residential and leisure scheme at the John Smith stadium in Huddersfield.
She will be working nationally but will be based in Manchester, at Winckworth Sherwood's office in 111 Piccadilly.
Winckworth Sherwood established a Manchester office in 2011 after hiring Cooksley, McCormack and Lindsay Garratt from Field Fisher Waterhouse. Cooksley and Garratt are based in London, while McCormack set up the office in Manchester.
Winckworth Sherwood is advising Peel Holdings on the Liverpool Waters scheme and on its Community Infrastructure Levy strategy.
McCormack, said: "I have known and worked alongside Jo for many years. She is a terrifically experienced planning lawyer. We are thrilled to have her rejoin the team and look forward to the contribution she will bring."
Hannah said: "Winckworth Sherwood's planning team is recognized as one of the strongest in the UK. It has worked on some the country's largest and highest profile schemes and has an enviable client base."
