Willmott Dixon picks up ProCure 21+ work
The Oldham office of Willmott Dixon has secured the company's sixth ProCure 21+ project in four months after being chosen by Airedale NHS Foundation Trust for a £15m hospital contract near Keighley, West Yorkshire.
The five-year contract will involve carrying out planned improvements to Airedale General Hospital in a number of departments.
The scope of work ranges from a new endoscopy unit to refurbishing the hospital's accident and emergency department.
Willmott Dixon's will use its 'insitu plan' system that it says ensures patients and staff are not disrupted by the building work, keeping the sites open to the public.
Working alongside Willmott Dixon will be its ProCure 21+ team, who are Capita Symonds, providing architectural, mechanical, engineering and structural services, plus Cyril Sweett as cost advisor.
ProCure 21+ is a framework run by the Department of Health for the procurement of new and refurbished NHS facilities. Although not compulsory, ProCure 21+ has become a popular route for NHS capital projects.
Anthony Dillon, managing director for Willmott Dixon in the North, said: "We are very pleased to have been awarded this long-term contract to improve facilities and deliver a hospital that's fit for the future needs of its local communities."
