Weightmans wins social housing tender

Warrington-based social housing provider Golden Gates Housing Trust has awarded law firm Weightmans LLP with a contract to provide legal advice.

The social housing team at Weightmans will advise Golden Gates Housing over a two year period.

Golden Gates Housing Trust manages 8,700 property units that were transferred from Warrington Council's ownership in 2010.

Sian Evans, head of the social housing team at Weightmans, who led the tender process, said: "We look forward to working closely with Golden Gates to advise the Trust on employment, governance and procurement issues."

Following the firm's merger with Mace & Jones last month, Weightmans' social housing offering encompasses housing management, housing litigation, employment, procurement and governance and housing finance expertise.
