Watkin Jones plots 200 Flint homes
A mix of one- to four-bedroom properties on a 22-acre site off Northop Road is the offering from the North Wales-based developer.
Watkin Jones Homes has submitted a planning application for the 200-home scheme to Flintshire County Council.
Of the 200 homes, 28 would be apartments and the remainder would be houses. The developer is aiming for a 20% provision of affordable properties, in line with Flintshire’s emerging local development plan.
Located west of Northop Road, the site was previously the subject of proposals from Anwyl Homes.
The housebuilder lodged plans for a 145-home scheme in 2018 but subsequently withdrew the application.
Baldwin Design Consultancy and PLPlanning are advising Watkin Jones on its proposals.
Watkin Jones this week issued a profit warning to shareholders. Shares in the developer plunged more than 30% on Tuesday morning after the company issued a trading update that predicted a 10% profit drop due to “market volatility”.
Not very inspiring design-wise.

Great scheme and working with the constrained levels looks a challenge, well done all
