Wainhomes plots 480-home Paddocks third phase

The housebuilder has lodged an application with Preston City Council for more homes off Sandy Lane in Cottam, taking the total number of properties at the development to more than 1,000.

Housebuilder Wainhomes is requesting outline consent for 480 homes across 46.5 acres south of Bartle Lane, as well as full consent for 42 homes on a plot west of Sandy Lane.

Preston City Council refused an earlier application for the 42-home element last year. This project has now been wrapped into the next phase of development at the Paddocks.

The first phase was approved in 2013 and comprised 350 homes. The second phase, greenlit in 2017, features 213 homes.

Last year, Preston granted Wainhomes consent to create a local centre as part of the Paddocks. The scheme features a pub, a 46-bedroom hotel, a medical centre, a drive-through restaurant, and 50 retirement apartments on six acres off Sandy Lane.

Maybern is advising Wainhomes on planning.
