Wainhomes adds to Wyre housing site

Wainhomes’ application to add 36 homes to its 165-home scheme at Arthur’s Lane in Hambleton was approved at Wyre Council’s planning committee.

The developer’s application will bring the total number of homes on the site up to 201; Gladman Developments secured outline planning permission earlier this year for up to 165 homes. After buying the site, Wainhomes obtained reserved matters for a higher-density scheme, and following this, put forward a separate application for 36 homes, which was signed off by Wyre Council this week.

Wainhomes argued the higher density would represent a “more efficient use of the land whilst maintaining a suitable density of development and retaining a significant over-provision of public open space on the site as a whole”.

The additional homes are primarily situated around the edge of the consented site, which is currently used as agricultural land.

Maybern Planning & Development, MCK Associates and WYG also worked on the project.
