Vinden joins Decipher as non-executive director

Peter Vinden brings his decades of construction dispute resolution expertise to the Manchester-based chartered surveyor, which is part of DeSimone Consulting Engineers.

Vinden has been an adjudicator, arbitrator, and mediator for a variety of high-profile institutions during his time as managing director of The Vinden Partnership.

Among the groups he has worked for are the Royal Institute of British Architects, the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, and The London Court of International Arbitration.

As a non-executive director at Decipher, Vinden will aid in the company’s expansion plans in the UK and overseas.

Decipher, which was brought into the DeSimone fold in 2023, already has offices in London, Manchester, and Dubai. It specialises in aiding clients in procurement, quantity surveying, project controls, delay analysis, and dispute resolution.

Paul Gibbons, founder of Decipher, welcomed Vinden to the team.

“Peter’s move to support our business further consolidates the great work of our team over the past few decades and highlights the strength of the firm since we joined DeSimone,”  he said. “We’re delighted to have Peter on board and look forward to gaining the benefit of his vast experience.”

For his part, Vinden expressed his enthusiasm to joining Decipher.

“I’m very much looking forward to the opportunities this new role will bring and the chance to work with Paul, Bill and the Decipher team,” Vinden said, referring to Decipher director Bill Bordill.

“The business has gone from strength to strength in recent years, and I look forward to continuing that success with the Decipher team going forward.”
