Vinci appointed on Wirral hospital work

Construction firm Vinci has won a £6.1m contract from Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust to build a new 15,000 sq ft facility.

Vinci will demolish the existing nurse training suite and build a single storey decontamination unit and surgical admissions lounge.

The 15,000 sq ft building will be designed to take two further floors in the future. Vinci will also fit-out 60 bath and shower rooms in the main hospital.

Morgan Sindall Construction is targeting a 2026 handover for the 33,000 sq ft scheme, which features a surgical neonatal intensive care unit and an expanded emergency care facility at the Liverpool children’s hospital.
