Unanimous approval for 430,000 sq ft Cheshire industrial

Cheshire West and Chester Council’s planning committee took just 10 minutes to approve DM France-Hayhurst Charitable Trust’s plan to expand Winsford Industrial Estate.

The developer has been granted outline approval for two logistics units totalling 430,000 sq ft on 15.5 acres south of Bostock Road to the north east of the industrial estate.

The site “provides a sizeable area for an extension to the estate on agricultural land which is of little value,” according to consultancy Fisher German, which advised the DM France-Hayhurst Charitable Trust on its proposals.

The project will see Winsford Industrial Estate expand eastwards into the village of Bostock.

Other occupiers at the complex include City Plumbing, Renray and Tiger Trailers.

At Tuesday’s meeting of CWAC’s planning committee, plans for 24 apartments from Lane End Developments Construction were also approved.

The scheme will be built on the corner of Whitby Drive and Walker Road in Winnington on a site previously earmarked for a pub or restaurant as part of the Winnington Urban Village development.
