UK Land targets Manchester growth with new appointment
UK Land & Property has recruited young development surveyor Andrew Purdon from GVA Grimley to manage a new office in Manchester.
Purdon, who becomes development manager at UKLP, is based at St Andrew's House on Bridge Street, recently acquired by the Liverpool-based developer in a joint venture with Pochin's.
Purdon began his career at DTZ before joining GVA Grimley where he was associate partner in Nick Whipp's respected development team.
Simon Parker, managing director of UKLP, said: "Given that we are already involved in a number of schemes in the Greater Manchester area, I think the timing is right to have a presence here. It is great news that Andrew is joining us to support our ambitions in the Manchester market."
UKLP is the preferred developer for Radcliffe town centre near Bury and is seeking further regeneration projects in the Greater Manchester boroughs. The firm is also delivering 100,000 sq ft of offices at Ashbrook Park, Heald Green, in another joint venture with Pochin's.
Purdon added: "My experience with GVA Grimley will stand me in good stead for this new challenge and I am looking forward both to the opportunity that UKLP's development programme will offer and to helping to secure more work in and around the city."
UKLP, again with Pochin's, recently completed the acquisition of the 500,000 sq ft Exchange Flags in Liverpool, the largest commercial building in single ownership in the city.
