Trafford hosts design code consultation events
Building on its design guide consultation earlier this year, Trafford Council is now seeking feedback on what rules to put into place for developers.
The design code would provide those looking to build in Trafford borough with a set of concise design requirements to guide their plans.
Events will be held throughout November, with the public invited to stop by and have a say in what the Trafford Design Code looks like.
The schedule of future community engagement sessions is as follows:
- 7 November at 6:30pm: Altrincham Town Hall, Market Street, Altrincham
- 14 November at 6:30pm: Stretford Public Hall, Chester Road, Stretford
- 16 November at 6:30pm: Partington Community Centre, Central Road, Partington
- 24 November at 6:30pm: St Mary Magdalene Church, Moss Lane, Sale
The council will also have a series of topic-based sessions at Trafford Town Hall. These are:
- Inclusive design: 21 November at 6:30pm
- Movement and active travel: 23 November at 6:30pm
- Sustainability: 29 November at 2:30pm
- Landscaping and nature: 30 November at 6:30pm
A second round of consultation is set for the spring of next year, with the adoption of the design code is expected in that July.
Do you mean rule changes which will eventually get overturned on appeal as the developers fight to see what departures from standards they can get away with?
