Top Shop opens enlarged Liverpool One store
One of the last but most significant elements of Grosvenor's epic retail scheme, Liverpool One, opened today; the 65,000 sq ft four-floor Top Shop, the largest outside London.
The long-awaited store, dogged by several construction setbacks, fronts Church Street and is double the size of the previous Top Shop in the city. Grosvenor believes it will effectively serve as another Liverpool One anchor, complementing John Lewis and Debenhams in other corners of the 43-acre scheme.
Shoppers were queuing from early this morning to sample the new-look store, which had to be realigned after the original building was partially demolished to form the arcade entrance to Liverpool One from Church Street.
Miles Dunnett, head of asset management at the Grosvenor Liverpool Fund, said: "The hugely expanded Top Shop is a major addition, not just to Liverpool One, but the region as a whole. Its size reflects the strength of the demand for fashion from our catchment and we are confident that the store will trade phenomenally well."
The store will offer the full range of TopShop and TopMan products, including the Vintage range, designer collaborations, TopShop Boutique, Studio and Scin, TopShop's in-store spa.
Good to see this finally opened, a key element of the Liverpool one grand design
