Tiger on the prowl after two-and-a-half year wait for Manchester approval
The developer behind proposals for a 173-bed student scheme in Ardwick has finally been given the necessary paperwork to get going with the scheme.
Manchester City Council has handed Tiger Developments a decision notice for its student scheme, located at 88-90 Carmoor Road.
The city council’s planning committee had already given the project the nod at a meeting back in June 2023 but a start on a formal decision notice had remained elusive until this week.
The scheme would see the building currently occupied by Carmoor Road Garage and Ciara’s Tots demolished and replaced with two connecting student blocks of three- and six-storeys.
An earlier iteration of the project included land currently occupied by the West Indian Community Centre. This land has now been excluded from the plans following public consultation.
If approved, Tiger’s development would link to the existing student development, Brook Hall, which fronts Upper Brook Street.
