Three more deals on the horizon at Hollinwood Junction

Langtree has completed its first land deal at its £35m mixed-use development in Oldham after Euro Garages secured planning permission for a £2m petrol filling station at the site.

The developer is in a joint venture to regenerate the site just off the M60, and said it expected there to be three more deals completing soon.

Overall, the project is expected to generate 760 new jobs at the site, which stretches over 30 acres and formerly housed a gasholder. Langtree is working with landowner Oldham Council to build 15 acres of retail, leisure, and employment space, alongside 15 acres of residential development at the site.

The first phase on the former Roxy Cinema site includes a £2m project to build a petrol filling station, a sandwich counter, bakery, and a retail unit, which will create around 30 jobs.

Although a main contractor has not yet been appointed, Euro Garages group planning and permit director Tom Jeremiah said the company was hoping to start on site later this year with a view to opening the petrol station by the end of the year.
