Tech company takes floors in ABC
Wejo, a company specialising in smart vehicle data, has taken 10,000 sq ft within Allied London’s ABC Buildings at St John’s in Manchester.
According to Wjo, the move comes as the business targets up to 100 jobs to be created over the next 12 months.
The office, spread across two floors, will accommodate 70 of Wejo’s 200 employees. The company was founded out of Chester by Richard Barlow in 2014, and now has four offices in the UK and US.
Its office design at ABC will include a digital observatory, giving a wall-to-wall display showing interactive real-time maps of traffic flows based on samples from over 9 million vehicles across the US.
Wejo uses historic and real-time data to give insights on traffic and driving trends.
Richard Barlow, chief executive of Wejo, said: “This new office is a hugely exciting milestone and it highlights the growth and impact we have created over the last five years. Being my home town, Manchester is particularly dear to me, and I’m especially proud to be part of its growing recognition as a centre of excellence for technology. We are committed to the North West and wejo is making it a global leader in connected vehicle technology.”
Wejo was advised by OBI Property on the acquisition and design of the office.
