Tebay named as Krol Corlett MD
Daniel Tebay has been made managing director of the regional construction firm, a move that follows two director-level appointments in April and former Morgan Sindall managing director Barry Roberts joining the company as a non-executive director.
The firm said that Tebay’s rise to the top at Krol Corlett “is the very definition of everything we stand for as a business”.
Several years ago, Simon Krol and Dave Corlett took Tebay from site as a working joiner and brought him into the office as the firm’s first apprentice quantity surveyor.
Tebay then went to work with tier-one contractor Kier as a QS, before rejoining the business as commercial director.
Since then he has worked with Krol and Corlett to grow the business organically, with new work streams developed and larger projects delivered.
He said: “I am thrilled to embark on this exciting journey as managing director of Krol Corlett. With a brilliant team and robust structure in place, we’re poised to achieve remarkable milestones together.”
Taken with the recent appointment of Neil Hoey and Neil Hudson as construction and commercial directors, the move to strengthen the management team beyond its longstanding directors is clear.
Neither Simon Krol nor Dave Corlett is stepping away from the business, they remain very much involved and supporting the new directors while also taking on new challenges within the Krol Corlett Group of companies, the firm said.
Krol said: “There is no one else on this planet I would feel comfortable appointing to the role of Managing Director other than Dan Tebay and I wholeheartedly congratulate him. This news should be a sign to all young apprentices out there that with the right training, application, and commitment there is a route through to the top.”
Corlett added: “I have absolutely no doubt that Dan will successfully lead the business into the future whilst maintaining our traditional business values, it has been a great experience working with Dan. Watching him develop professionally and personally over the years has been fantastic, I look forward to supporting him as we move forward.”
Krol Corlett has offices in Knowsley, central Manchester, and Preston.
