Find out how Wrexham FC’s Hollywood ownership is impacting the North Wales economy, discover how Cheshire and Warrington are preparing for devolution, and hear from private sector developers about how they are navigating the challenges of the moment.

Political leaders from Warrington Council, Cheshire East Council, and Cheshire West and Chester Council will outline their ambitions for a devolved Cheshire while explaining how they intend to wield more power locally to drive growth.

For the first time, the event will also shine a light on North Wales, exploring some of the large scale projects in the region and discussing the opportunities and challenges they present.

In addition, public and private sector decision-makers will run the rule over the development scene in Cheshire, analysing how government policy is shaping the landscape and debating what the county’s priorities should be.

The event takes place from 8am on 5 June at Chester Racecourse.

Gemma Davies is director of economy & housing at Cheshire West & Chester Council. Davies will highlight the large regeneration schemes coming forward in the borough and explore what the council is doing to drive growth and breathe new life into its urban areas.

Phil Collings, MADE Partnership, p Phil Collings (x

Phil Collings is development director at Barratt Redrow and land and development lead for MADE Partnership. Want to know what goes into creating a garden village? Collings will discuss this and much more as MADE progresses plans to deliver one in Handforth.

Cllr Michael Gorman, Cheshire East Council, p Cheshire East Council (x)

Cllr Michael Gorman is deputy leader, Cheshire East Council. As one of the triumvirate of councils involved in Cheshire’s devolution deal, Gorman will outline his hopes and dreams for a decentralised county.

Cllr Hans Mundry, Warrington Council, p Warrington Council (x)

Cllr Hans Mundry is Leader, Warrington Council. Mundry, alongside leaders from Cheshire East and Cheshire West and Chester councils will explain what the devolution deal could do as far development in Warrington is concerned.

Cllr Nathan Pardoe, Cheshire West & Chester, p Cheshire West & Chester (x)Cllr Nathan Pardoe is deputy interim leader of Cheshire West and Chester Council. With regeneration ambitions in Cheshire, Winsford, and Northwich, Pardoe will discuss how devolution could supercharge this pipeline and afford the council scope to ramp up the delivery of projects elsewhere.

Rhys Parry, Welsh Government, p Rhys Parry (x)

Rhys Parry is capital investment lead, Welsh Government. Like England, Wales too has a North/South divide. Parry will shine a light on the projects coming forward in North Wales and discuss what more needs to be done to bridge the gap and attract more investment into the north of the country.

Annette McDonald, Tatton Group, p Tatton Group (x)

Annette McDonald is deputy managing director at Tatton Group. Fresh from receiving planning approval for a service station, McDonald will share her thoughts on how national and local policy is impacting regeneration efforts while divulging more about Tatton’s exciting pipeline of projects.
