Tameside homes come forward at Waters Edge
Galliford Try Partnerships and Manchester-based housing association Irwell Valley Homes are set to build 116 homes in Droylsden, Tameside, after the site was bought from a private investor.
The disused site on Edge Lane will be developed into 50 houses and 66 apartments, in a scheme known as Waters Edge due to its position next to Ashton Canal.
The houses, a mix of three and four-bedroomed homes, will be sold by Linden Homes, whilst the two-bedroomed apartments will be built on behalf of Irwell Valley Homes and will be available for affordable rent.
Brendan Blythe, Galliford Try Partnerships’ managing director, said: “As regeneration specialists we are delighted to have secured this brownfield land for the development of high-quality homes.
“The development and partnership with Irwell Valley Homes will bring a wide range of much-needed new housing options to the area.”
The scheme is being bought forward after the North West division of Galliford Try Partnerships bought the site from a private vendor.
Construction is expected to start in summer 2019 with the first homes available at the end of the year.
