Stocktons buys storage space

Independent furniture retailer Stocktons has acquired a 32,000 sq ft warehouse on Bredbury Industrial Park in Stockport from a private investor.

Stocktons is headquartered at its showroom in Ancoats, Manchester. The freehold of the property was bought for an undisclosed price. Stocktons intends to operate the premises as a storage and distribution centre. The detached warehouse, which includes a two-storey office, is located on Horsfield Way.

Jones Lang LaSalle acted on behalf of the vendor. Mark Sillitoe, associate director of industrial and logistics at Jones Lang LaSalle, said: "Freehold opportunities like this are few and far between in the southern section of the M60, so it's unsurprising that the premises attracted significant interest from a number of parties when we brought it to the market last year."

Jones Lang LaSalle and Garner & Sons acted on behalf of the vendor. Stocktons was unrepresented.
