St Modwen kicks off Chamberhall Business Park build
The developer has appointed Lindum to deliver 130,000 sq ft of industrial & logistics space at the business park in Bury.
Construction is now under way to build 14 units, ranging between 25,000 sq ft and 2,500 sq ft, which form the first phase of the 17-acre development off the A56.
St Modwen secured planning consent in January this year for the Pozzoni-designed scheme, and construction is expected to take around 12 months to complete.
A second phase at Chamberhall sits between phase one and the Greater Machester Police building close by and could accomodate a mix of offices and leisure as well as industrial. North of the town centre and close to the M66, the Chamberhall site has been allocated for employment for a number of years.
Andrew Day, asset manager at St. Modwen, said: “The scheme we are developing will bring high-quality industrial units to Bury, which we know are highly sought after, and will enable expanding local businesses to grow as well as provide accommodation for businesses looking to relocate to the town.
“We are really encouraged by the interest we have already received from potential occupiers and hope to announce a significant pre-let in the near future.”
Knight Frank and Nolan Redshaw are the retained agents at Chamberhall Business Park.
