St Hilda’s school contract goes to Morgan Sindall
Morgan Sindall has won a £15m contract to build the new St Hilda's CE High School in Sefton Park, Liverpool.
The project for Liverpool City Council will see the construction and infrastructure company build a new school on land neighbouring the existing school site on Croxteth Drive.
The new school will be larger than the existing building, with intake rising from 129 to 150 pupils across each year group. The new school will be co-educational school.
Work is due to start early in 2014 to construct the new building, which will feature state-of-the-art facilities and outdoor sports pitches. The scheme is being funded and supported by the Liverpool School Investment Programme.
Barry Roberts, area director for Morgan Sindall, said: "Increased pressure on local schools to provide high quality education facilities for a growing population is a key issue in Merseyside and one we're pleased to be playing a part in tackling.
"Morgan Sindall has great depth of experience in education construction and we're well versed in delivering projects across the country on time and on budget. We're looking forward to working with Liverpool City Council to deliver these education facilities for people in the local area."
The £169m Liverpool Schools Investment Programme was approved in November 2012 and replaced the Building Schools for the Future programme.
