Sodexho wins contract for Manchester’s Universal Square

Food and facilities management company Sodexho has been awarded the contract to manage a number of leisure services at Frogmore Northern's £12m Universal Square refurbishment.

Sodexho will manage the newly opened gym and fitness suite, a Costa Coffee bar, a convenience store, and all the soft services including cleaning, reception, switchboard, mailroom and grounds maintenance.

Ian Quigley, Sodexho's on-site manager said: "We are keen to encourage a community within Universal Square and with all the facilities available to tenant companies we are well on the way to achieving this. Business parks with shared and central facilities are a growing market and one that we are keen to be part of."

The 275,020 sq ft office campus scheme located close to the Mancunian Way and Piccadilly Railway Station is now 50% occupied, with 34 tenants including Manchester Working – the joint venture between Manchester City Council and Morrison Facilities Services, Mason Williams and City College.

Canning O'Neill and DTZ are joint agents.
