Seven makes its move
Seven Architecture’s Manchester team, led by co-directors Ian Chapman and Lisa Mcfarlane, has relocated to Waulk Mill in Ancoats.
The Manchester studio has been based at Oxford Street for 10 years but has moved to larger space at the Urban Splash-owned Waulk Mill.
Seven said that it has made nine new hires across the group in the last six months, while associates Zoe Hobson and Stephen Last, who have been with the business eight years collectively, will now lead their respective teams in the living and education sectors.
RIBA conservation architect Mcfarlane, who leads on heritage for the practice, said: “With Waulk Mill being one of the first historic mills in the area to be redeveloped, we definitely feel at home already.
“The interior design and fit-out was carried out by ourselves and we were mindful of creating a quality and inviting environment for our team to work within which values the principles of health & wellbeing.”
Projects the Manchester team is currently working on include Project Violet at Daresbury for long-standing client Langtree and retirement living accommodation via the McCarthy & Stone framework, while delivery stage is now progressing with a second youth zone, HideOut, for OnSide in East Manchester.
Chapman said: “The business has taken a step-change over the last year and our sustained growth has allowed us to expand into this new Manchester office as we had, quite literally, grown out of our previous space.”
The firm also has offices in Conwy, Harrogate and London.
