Screenfields recognised in national marketing awards
Last summer's open-air screening of films and sports events in Allied London's Spinningfields has been commended in The Drum Marketing Awards.
The central Manchester development received a commendation in the Event or Experiential Strategy category for the activity, which attracted 62,000 people between June and September. The screen will return this summer.
Among the films shown in 2009 were The Graduate, Grease, Breakfast at Tiffany's and ET. The open-air cinema also showed some of last summer's biggest sporting events including the British Grand Prix and Wimbledon.
Fran Goddard, head of communications and events at Spinningfields, said: "We're thrilled with this latest award. This was an extremely tough category with lots of exceptional campaigns. We're delighted to announce Screenfields will be returning again this summer with a fantastic film and sporting line-up. More details will be revealed in the coming weeks."
This latest accolade for Spinningfields follows a number of awards including Property Week's Best Development Outside London and Best Commercial Workplace at the Regional British Council for Office Awards.
