Sales up for Countryside in Salford

The housebuilder reported a 30% rise in sales at its New Broughton Village scheme compared to 2013.

The 183-acre development was launched in 2006 and has so far seen the delivery of more than 900 homes. Countryside is currently on site with the latest phase, of 181 homes. Within the last six months, 58 properties have been sold off plan to private buyers.

New Broughton Village has a mix of three- and four-bedroom homes and one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments built over the course of the last eight years.

The scheme comprises a mix of open market and social housing properties designed to create a tenure-blind community, where social cannot be told apart from private housing.

Forming part of Salford Council's £500m investment in Lower Broughton, New Broughton Village includes the landscaped Ascension Park, the River View Primary School, a local church and a variety of shops and cafes, a dentist and a chemist.

Peter Vella, regional sales and marketing director at Countryside, said: "Our vision for New Broughton Village was to transform the face of Lower Broughton in Salford and create an exemplar model of place making. The development is now moving far beyond our aspirations. The continued rise in demand of our buyers and subsequent rise in sales is evidence that New Broughton has long been an attractive neighbourhood and it continues to lead the North West residential market."

Countryside has also launched The Point at New Broughton Village, an additional 45 homes which include the first two-bedroom houses at New Broughton, specifically designed to meet demand from young first time buyers.

House prices start at £124,950.
