Ryder enters landscape debate
Stuart Ryder of Chester-based Ryder Landscape Consultants has been appointed to the Landscape Institute's technical committee to advise on forthcoming national policy.
The appointment follows Ryder's advisory role preparing for a new British Standard for flood and water management issues. He is also currently co-ordinating responses to the new Water White Paper which received criticism recently from the environment select committee.
Ryder said: "It is essential that proposed legislation takes into consideration the views and advice of the experts. The Landscape Institute is a technical consultee to the white paper and we will be aiming to submit comments to ministers in the next month."
As well as the appointment with the Landscape Institute, Stuart Ryder and his firm, Ryder Landscape Consultants, also has technical advisory roles with the Planning Advisory Service, the North East Design Review and Enabling Panel, and the Inter-Institutional Flood Group working with other professional institutions to inform and influence government policy on flood risk management. Stuart has been on the Heritage Lottery Fund's list of mentors and monitors since 1996.
Congratulations and well deserved Stuart!
