RIBA extends NW schools project
RIBA North West is recruiting an education manager to oversee the Places Matter programme for 14 to 19-year-olds aimed at increasing awareness of built environment topics.
Places Matter is the publicly funded architecture and built environment think-tank for the North West supported by CABE, the North West Development Agency and English Heritage, alongside RIBA.
The NWDA recently agreed a further £1.8m of funding to cover a programme of activities to 2012. Places Matter emerged out of Renew, the regeneration skills agency that closed last year.
Places Matter has so far collaborated with 226 teachers, 151 artists and 113 professionals, delivering built environment lessons and producing ten public exhibitions and five training films.
The education manager will be appointed on a two-year fixed contract at £30,000 a year.
The closing date for applications is 9 February.
