ReBlackpool names three new board members

ReBlackpool, the urban regeneration company, has announced the appointment of three new board members.

Planning and regeneration expert Mike Appleton, Andrew Stokes, chief executive of Marketing Manchester, and Ged Fitzgerald, chief executive of Lancashire County Council, were voted onto the board on Wednesday 4 February 4 and join chairman, Sir Howard Bernstein, and ten other existing board members.

Sir Howard, chief executive of Manchester City Council, who became chairman of ReBlackpool in July 2008, said: "ReBlackpool has benefitted from the talents of so many high achieving individuals and the appointment of Mike, Andrew and Ged strengthens the team hugely.

"ReBlackpool is committed to bold, radical thinking and action to ensure the future success of the town including provisions for improved housing, education opportunities and a better shopping experience."

Appleton runs his own consultancy and works closely with the North West Development Agency, one of ReBlackpool's founding partners and chief funders.

He also sits on the Olympic Delivery Statutory Planning Committee and has advised Cibitas Investments, English Partnerships, Amec and the Government.
